PPR Pipes for Chemical Industries
PPR Pipes for Chemical Industries
PPR (Polypropylene Random Copolymer) piping can be used in chemical plants for corrosion-resistant fluid handling, particularly where the chemical compatibility and operating temperature/pressure are suitable.
Common applications:
Process and utility water lines
Cooling-water systems
Chemical dosing and transfer lines
Acid/alkali solutions where chemically compatible
RO/DM water distribution
Compressed-air and utility services
Wastewater and drainage
HVAC chilled-water systems
Advantages:
Excellent resistance to many corrosive chemicals
No rust or scaling
Heat-fusion joints provide leak-resistant connections
Lightweight and relatively easy to install
Low maintenance
Long service life when correctly specified
Important: PPR is not universally suitable for every chemical. Chemical concentration, temperature, pressure, and exposure time should be checked against the manufacturer's chemical-resistance chart before selecting the pipe. For aggressive chemicals or high-temperature services, materials such as PP-H, PVDF, PTFE-lined piping, or suitable metallic alloys may be more appropriate.
