PPR Pipes for Sugar Factory
PPR pipes can be used in sugar factories for several utility and water-service applications, particularly where corrosion resistance and hygienic water handling are important.
Common applications
Process water distribution – conveying treated/process water.
Cooling-water lines – for machinery and auxiliary equipment, where temperature and pressure are within the pipe system’s ratings.
Hot and cold water – utility water, wash-down systems and general services.
Boiler auxiliary services – selected low/medium-temperature water lines, subject to design conditions.
Compressed-air piping – only when the specific PPR system is manufacturer-approved and rated for compressed air.
Chemical dosing/utility lines – for compatible chemicals; chemical compatibility must be verified.
Worker and facility water supply – drinking, sanitary and washing-water networks.
Advantages in a sugar plant
Corrosion and scale resistance
Heat-welded joints with low leakage risk
Smooth internal surface and low friction losses
Relatively lightweight and easy to install
Low maintenance compared with metallic piping
Important: PPR is not automatically suitable for every sugar-factory service. For steam, very high-temperature condensate, high-pressure compressed air, or aggressive chemicals, the operating temperature, pressure, chemical compatibility and applicable standards should be checked before specifying PPR.
